About Us
Hello, and thank you for visiting this blog!
I’m Nikki, the creator behind Silver Bullet Health. This blog was born in 2020, during the COVID lockdown, when I found myself increasingly fascinated by health, fitness, and wellbeing. At the time, I wanted to share my thoughts and knowledge with others, but I was hesitant. I felt I didn’t have enough experience or expertise to write about health and didn’t want to risk giving the wrong advice. So, I put the idea on hold.
Fast forward to 2025, and things have changed. I completed my degree in Sport and Exercise Science in 2024, finishing at the top of my class and receiving multiple school awards. In the meantime, I became a qualified ballet teacher in 2021 and earned my certification as a Fitness instructor and Personal trainer in 2022.
As part of my degree, I had the opportunity to undertake a placement year in an orthopedic hospital, working with patients a few months post-ACL and shoulder surgery. I was involved in biomechanical testing, including 3D motion capture and isokinetic dynamometry, which gave me firsthand experience in understanding the physical challenges patients face during recovery.
Along the way, I developed a deep passion for research, which led me to pursue a PhD in Biosciences for Health, specializing in Neuromuscular Physiology, which I started in 2024. It’s this combination of hands-on experience and scientific study that has given me the confidence to finally bring Silver Bullet Health to life.
Why Silver Bullet Health?
The name “Silver Bullet Health” reflects my belief in the power of exercise as a universal, scientifically-backed solution for enhancing health and well-being. I truly believe exercise is the so-called “silver bullet” when it comes to health.
Here, I dive into the science behind why staying active is essential for our bodies and minds. Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or looking to deepen your understanding, I aim to offer valuable insights that combine evidence-based research with practical tips.
I wanted this blog to be educational and accessible, offering a window into the world of science and sport for those without a background in these areas. My goal is to explain the scientific literature in a way that’s easy to understand, helping you grasp why things are the way they are when it comes to health and fitness.
I’m passionate about health and education, and I truly believe that even a little movement can make a big impact on someone’s life. If you’re someone who hasn’t quite found the motivation to get moving, I hope to inspire you to start small – every step counts.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and continue exploring the fascinating world of health and fitness with you!
